Preventative Dentistry
At Diamond Valley Dental Group we place a strong emphasis on preventative dentistry and the majority of our patients are encouraged to attend every six months for a regular dental examination. This enables us to monitor the health of the teeth and gums and address any issues promptly with minimal intervention before more extensive and costly treatment is required.
We pride ourselves on being a family focussed practice and in many instances are now seeing a third and sometimes fourth generation of families for their dental care.
In January 2014 the Child Dental Benefit Schedule was introduced providing financial support to eligible children aged 2-17 years, for basic dental services under Medicare. If your children are eligible for dental treatment under this scheme, please advise us when making their appointments and bring your Medicare card with you when they attend. We can then Bulk Bill directly to Medicare with no out of pocket cost to you for services covered by this scheme.
Preventative services provided include
- Regular examination and assessment of dental and periodontal (gum) health
- X-rays (to assess the areas between the teeth and elsewhere not visible to the eye)
- Instruction on correct brushing and flossing techniques

- Fissure seals (to help prevent future decay)
- Mouthguards (to help prevent damage to teeth through sporting injuries)
- Splints/night guards (to prevent damage to teeth through grinding)
