A/Prof John Boucher AM BDSc, LDS, FRACDS, FICD, GAICD
John commenced practice at the Diamond Valley Dental Group in 1979 after graduating from the University of Melbourne with 1st Class Honours. Since then John has dedicated his professional life to providing the best possible dental care to the community of the Diamond Valley, endeavouring to always be available to respond to all patient needs. John grew up in the northern suburbs, has lived and worked in the Diamond Valley for 40 years and is part of the Diamond Valley community. John and his wife Rhonda have travelled to Vietnam, on a voluntary basis with Rotary Australia, on 8 occasions to provide primary dental care in rural Vietnam.
John was recognised in the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours list as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM). John has been a clinical teacher and examiner at Melbourne University for 38 years and has examined for La Trobe University Dental School. John regularly provides lectures on Restorative Dentistry and other topics for Melbourne Dental School and has lectured at State and National ADA Conferences. He has been an examiner for the Australian Dental Council for 25 years and is past President of the Australian Dental Council. John has been awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) and the Distinguished Service Award of the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB). He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD) and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Above all, John loves his clinical practice at Diamond Valley Dental Group in Greensborough and has an interest in all aspects of restorative dentistry.
Dr Xavier Li BDSc (Hons)
Xavier is a caring and passionate dentist with over 15 years of experience in private practice. He completed his dental degree on a Faculty Scholarship at the University of Melbourne, graduating with Honours in 2003. He went on to complete the primary examinations for Fellowship of Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons in 2006.
Since graduation Xavier has worked in private practice in various areas including Mooroopna, Richmond, Knox and Greensborough, as well as participating in dental aid trips abroad in Kyrgyzstan, Uganda and Congo. Xavier joined Diamond Valley Dental Group in 2008 and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in dental implants, endodontics (root canal treatment) and orthodontics including traditional braces and also clear aligner therapy (Invisalign).
Xavier understands that visiting the dentist can sometimes be a daunting experience and tries to make this easier with a friendly approach, comprehensive communication and a gentle touch. He is passionate about delivering patient centered treatment outcomes to the highest standards.
Outside of dentistry, Xavier’s two kids keep him very busy although if he has some spare time, he might be found on a golf course or a basketball court.
Dr Viviana Montealegre Leon BDS, ADC Cert
Viviana graduated from University of Valle in Colombia in 2006 and practiced as a general dentist in the private sector for 4 years before moving to Australia.
She successfully completed the Australian Dental Council examination in 2014 and worked in the private sector in Wagga Wagga NSW until 2016 when she joined our team on a full-time basis.
In 2017 Viviana joined the Australian Dental Council as an examiner. She travelled to Vietnam in 2019 as part of the Rotary Group of Australia to do voluntary work in the dental field.
Viviana aims to make your dental experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible and is focused on giving her patients the best dental care. She is passionate about all areas of dentistry, including restorative, root canal treatments, oral surgery and orthodontics.
She frequently attends continuing education courses to keep herself updated and able to offer her patients the latest advances in dentistry.
Viviana is currently on Maternity Leave and we look forward to her returning to Diamond Valley Dental Group later this year.
Dr Evelyn Li BDS (Otago, NZ)
Evelyn graduated from University of Otago, New Zealand in 2002 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with credit. She proceeded to work in the public dental sector in Queensland and private sectors in Hobart and Singapore. She decided to settle down in Melbourne, the city of trams and cafes, in 2006.
In 2006 Evelyn completed the primary stage of Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) where she met her husband Xavier Li. They now have two noisy, but adorable, kids together. In 2007 and 2008 Evelyn went to Kyrgystan to provide dental treatment to the rural community who had never seen a dentist before.
From 2006 Evelyn has been working in the private sector in Melbourne. She had been working part-time as a locum dentist at Diamond Valley Dental Group since 2016 and was invited to join the team on a permanent part-time basis (working Monday and Tuesday) when an opening became available in 2018.
Evelyn enjoys attending continuing education courses and all aspects of general dentistry. She is gentle and caring in nature and aims to provide the best dental care for her patients.
Dr Duy Ho BDS
Duy grew up in Melbourne and graduated from the University of Melbourne Dental School in 2003. Since graduating he has gained experience working in rural, regional and suburban areas before settling in Greensborough, where he has been servicing the community for 17 years. Duy is passionate about getting to know his patients so that he can meet each patient's expectations and needs.
Providing a high standard of dental treatment in a compassionate manner is what Duy always strives to achieve. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but his special interest areas include management of dental anxiety, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, implantology, paediatrics and periodontics.
Beyond dentistry Duy enjoys cycling, hiking, golf, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Dr Zhen Zeng BBiomedSc (Hons), DDS, PhD
Zhen graduated from the University of Melbourne as Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2018. While studying dentistry he also completed his research in Neuroscience and was awarded Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
On graduating Zhen was selected to be a graduate dentist at Goulburn Valley Base Hospital and completed a 2 year placement working in Shepparton. As well as treating patients, Zhen also taught final year dental students from Melbourne Dental School.
He is an active member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and is past committee member of the ADA Victorian Branch Goulburn Valley Group.
Zhen joined Diamond Valley Dental Group in 2020. He has a friendly and caring approach towards his patients. Helping patients to achieve a better oral health outcome is what motivates him to work every day. His strong science background, combined with his belief in evidenced-based dentistry, enables him to provide high standard dental care to his patients. Zhen believes that one should never stop learning for there will always be a challenge lying ahead tomorrow.
Outside of work, Zhen enjoys swimming, reading, watching movies and travelling.
